The “Get Lucky” toss, and a wedding in the woods!

get lucky post picI am DJing a rad wedding this August out at a beautiful Washington Venue on Bainbridge Island, Islandwood! Seriously check this venue out, it’s so amazing. It’s primarily used as a school in the woods, but they also open it up for private events like weddings. The property is 226 acres of woodland majesty, and it looks like a swanky summer camp! There is plenty of room for field games, dancing, and getting lost in the woods. There is also onsite accommodations for you and your guests.

I am working with of a top notch team to pull off this wedding in the woods. The awesome and helpful staff at Islandwood, and pro event planner Krista Simons at Privé Events. We were discussing the bouquet toss and Krista dropped an awesome idea on the the table that I had never heard of before: The “Get Lucky” Toss. Let’s say you have a group of friends coming to your wedding that are for the most part coupled up, and you won’t have enough single ladies to catch the bouquet. Rather than tossing to only a few single girls, you can do a “get lucky” toss to all of the females on the guest list, and whoever the lucky lady is who catches the bouquet is gonna….you know… knock boots that night!! It’s something that gets everyone involved (that is, everyone intending to go to the bone zone after the wedding haha). I loved this idea, and had to share it. Thanks sooooo much Krista for the advice, and I encourage all of you brides-to-be to look her up, she is the real deal!!

Thanks for reading, and I can’t wait to party with you!!
